Last Thursday, January 31st, before I dressed up in my with the purple Waterproof Ahnu Laguna Boots that we’re giving away (Last chance to enter is Feb 16th at 11:59 PM), I had the hubs take a pic of the dENiZEN Totally Shaping Skinny Jeans that I received to review.

As you can see above, they look pretty great from the front. The thighs and hips fit well, they are a little long for me (I’m 5’2″) but overall they are great.

Just one little problem that I seem to have with a lot of jeans… A large gap in the waist in the back.

I have no yet figured out why some jeans fit perfect and why some are enormously huge in the waist and gaping in the back. They fit perfect everywhere else! I couldn’t size down because then the hips and thighs would be too tight. These are another pair of jeans that I will end up always wearing with a belt or will put into my “bring to a tailor someday” pile that is getting quick large…

If it wasn’t for the waist being 2-3 inches too big for me, I would absolutely LOVE these jeans! To me, that makes it worth while to bring them to a tailor and get them altered. I just haven’t bothered to do that yet… My mother use to be a seamstress and knows how to tailor jeans, so I feel like I shouldn’t have to bring them somewhere and pay to have them fixed when my mom could easily do it. Every time I give her a pair of pants to alter for me though, she doesn’t give them back to me for at least 6 months! I gave her a pair of maternity pants in 2007 when I was pregnant with my first child, to hem for me because they were 4 inches too long. Well, she did not hem them and give them back to me till 2010 AFTER the birth of my SECOND child! lol Hmm… maybe I should find a new tailor?

(Honestly, my butt is NOT that flat! It’s the jeans, I swear!)

The rise in the front and back is absolutely perfect (for me), it’s just that the waist is too big. I am wearing size 2 regular (they do come in short and long lengths too!) My measurements are currently: 24″ waist, 31″ hips. Hopefully that will give you an idea of the sizing and how they might fit you.

I have another pair of dENiZEN Jeans (pull on skinny jeans) that are the same exact size (2) and fit me absolutely perfect. I will show you those in a couple days!

dENiZEN Jeans are available only at Target (click here to shop all women’s dENiZEN styles at Target.com) and are around $28 per pair. I recommend that you try them on in the store to find which style fits you perfectly. (I just noticed they also have their totally shaping skinny jeans available in red, pink, purple and teal! click here)
